You Want More for Your Child

Our area public schools are excellent—we know. But you're wondering if there's something more:

+ More individual attention when your child has a question or needs a challenge

+ More flexibility to let your gifted child work ahead—or get extra support where needed

+ More than test scores—developing creativity, critical thinking, and independence

+ More consistency—one school community from age 3 through 14, not constant transitions

You're not looking to "fix" a bad situation. You're looking for an education that truly sees your child as an individual.

Personalized Learning That Meets Your Child Where They Are

At Hudson Montessori School, elementary students ages 6-12 experience:

6:1 Student-Teacher Ratio

Your child works closely with credentialed Montessori educators who know their learning style, strengths, and areas for growth. No one falls through the cracks.

Self-Paced Mastery

Children progress when they're ready—often working 1-2 years ahead in areas of strength, getting targeted support where needed. No waiting for the whole class to catch up.

Multi-Age Classrooms

Elementary students learn in 3-year age groupings (6-9, 9-12), building leadership skills, collaboration, and mentorship naturally.

PreK-8th Grade Continuity

Choose once. Your child builds deep relationships and learning foundations from ages 3-14 without disruptive school changes during critical developmental years.

Hands-On, Engaged Learning

Montessori materials and project-based learning develop not just knowledge, but genuine love of learning and intellectual curiosity.

We initially visited Hudson Montessori School as an education option for our gifted son when he was in kindergarten, with every intention of sending our other children to the local public school...but we quickly fell in love with the teachers, learning style, and community-minded atmosphere. Everyone in the school knows my family, and I feel that they truly care about my children. Our kids have received a wonderful education thus far (now in our 6th year at the school) and are able to follow their passions and truly love learning and going to school every day.

STILL NOT SURE?

Common Questions From Hudson-Area Parents

Q: How does Montessori prepare students for high school?

Exceptionally well. Our graduates enter high school as self-directed learners with strong executive function skills—they know how to manage time, advocate for themselves, and pursue learning independently. Many work above grade level in multiple subjects and thrive in rigorous high school environments.

Q: What about socialization? Aren't multi-age classes isolating?

The opposite. Multi-age groupings mirror real life—children learn to collaborate with diverse age groups, younger students learn from older peers, and older students develop leadership and mentoring skills. Our elementary students are confident communicators and collaborative team members.

Q: Can we afford private school?

Yes! We offer flexible payment plans and some financial aid for qualifying families. When you consider the 6:1 ratio, credentialed Montessori teachers, and PreK-8th continuity, families tell us it's an investment that pays dividends for a lifetime.

Q: What if my child is used to traditional school structure?

Children adapt beautifully—often within 2-4 weeks. The first days may feel different (more choice, more movement, mixed ages), but students quickly embrace the independence and respect for their learning pace. We support every transition carefully.

Q: Is Montessori too 'free-form'? What about structure and discipline?

Montessori is actually highly structured—just not in the traditional sense. Students have clear expectations, follow consistent routines, and work within defined parameters. The "freedom" is choice within structure: choosing work sequence, working at their own pace, selecting project topics. It develops self-discipline, not chaos.

Q: Do you follow Ohio academic standards?

Yes. Our curriculum meets or exceeds Ohio Learning Standards. Montessori materials and methods are research-based approaches to mastering these standards—often more deeply than traditional instruction because learning is hands-on and concept-driven.
